for example, in Denmark communities buy into wind turbine cooperatives. it's clean and cheap. Denmark is free form foreign oil, while in 1973, before the embargo, 99% of their energy came form foreign oil. http://www.neatorama.com/2008/01/01/energy-independence-how-denmark-kicked-the-foreign-oil-habit/ i know Denmark is much smaller but why cant we do this? @still quazee: did you have fun collecting all the facts you could to throw down this proposal? of course we wont go as extreme as denmark, cars arent as much a neccesity in de as here. and furthermore within 15 years they plan to produce 75% of their power from wind (from the article). and is oil drilling reliable? like when it spills or the well dries up? of if you build the turbines strategically like off the coast or on ridges it will operate at capacity most of the time, not to mention the BP oil spill probably killed more birds than all wind turbines in the US so far. i dont understand people who think theyre an eye sore, but they wouldnt be built in the middle of cities... and damn right, liberals wont. that just shows you how fake a liberal obama is....
